Tilden Lake LSB is made up of five members, who are elected each year by the community. This group ensures that our services are managed effectively and aligned with the needs of residents.
Tilden Lake LSB is responsible for providing basic services within this area, where no municipal organization is present to deliver them.
Our mission is to ensure essential services such as recreation, fire protection, and 911 services are available to all residents and businesses within our community.
We strive to enhance the quality of life for residents by supporting recreational activities and programs in the community.
The Fire Department is a service provided by the Local Services Board that delivers fire protection to road accessible properties. If called upon, we occasionally assist on crown land, remote and highway emergencies.
In the event of an emergency, call 911.
Our emergency services plan establishes the framework to provide key officials and volunteers within the Local Services Board of Tilden Lake jurisdictional area with a general guideline to the initial response to an emergency and an overview of their responsibilities during an emergency.
We maintain a lovely community centre, which serves as the heart of many events and activities for the community. The centre is also available for private rentals, providing a perfect venue for your personal celebrations and gatherings.
This is the official page of the Tilden Lake LSB. Here, we provide key information about our community and the essential services we oversee. Tilden Lake is a peaceful community located in Ontario, Canada, about 35 kilometres north of North Bay along Highway 11. Our area spans Tilden, Bidwell, and Elbow lakes and is part of the unorganized North Part of the Nipissing census subdivision.
At Tilden Lake LSB, we value transparency and community involvement. From time to time, we offer public bids and tenders for various services and projects within our jurisdiction. These opportunities are open to qualified contractors and service providers who wish to contribute to the growth and development of our community.
Our services are primarily funded through community fundraising efforts and property levies within Tilden Lake. In addition, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources, and Forestry contributes approximately $5,000 annually in grants. The TLLSB operates with a budget of $75,000, which covers the expenses of running the Community Centre, including the Fire Hall.
The Local Services Board members have public meetings once per month at the Community Centre. Public attendance is highly encouraged, as it provides an opportunity for residents to engage with the Board and stay informed about community matters. Meeting minutes are available in the Residents Area for those who are unable to attend in person.
We are committed to keeping Tilden Lake a safe, connected, and thriving community for all residents and businesses. For more information, feel free to attend a meeting or contact us directly.
